library books

Library:
· Our class will begin to check out books from the school library. However, a parent must sign a permission slip.
· Please take good care of the library’s books.
· Books will be due on Tuesday.
· You are more than welcome to send the library books back early.

week of 10-26-09

Last week we made black widows. They are displayed on our classroom spider web. Also, we studied the famous 20th century artist Henri Matisse. Matisse was born in France and was known for his use of color. The students painted their version of Matisse’s work of art, Jazz Icarus. The students did a great job.
Please remember that if your child does not turn in their completed homework on Friday, they will owe time outside. If your child does not bring a backpack or folder, they will owe time outside too.

Harvest fest information:
· Our class is in need of candy for our Harvest Fest booth.
· Our class needs volunteers for the 7:00-7:30, 8:00-8:30, and 8:30-9:00 time slots. Please let me know if you are available to volunteer at the Harvest Fest as soon as possible

Red ribbon week – Say NO to drugs:
· Our class will be wearing our red collared uniform shirts on Thursday

Dress code:
· Since it is getting colder, all sweaters worn in any school building MUST be solid red, navy blue, or white.

This week there will be NO homework packet. However, PLEASE review the letter and letter sounds we have gone over so far: Ll, Oo, Gg, Hh, Tt, Pp, Aa. It is very important to keep reviewing the letters and letter sounds.

OCTOBER 7th - $1 dress down day! All money goes to our classroom.

OCTOBER 8th – 40th day. The 40th day is a huge funding day for our school. Please make sure your child is at school on time. It is important that every student is in school and counted.

HOMEWORK: Homework will be sent out today. Please complete and return it on FRIDAY,
OCTOBER 9th. Please do not turn in until Friday. Please make sure your child is studying their spelling words every night.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th – All students MUST be picked up at 11:30. There will be No lunch or afterschool. No school Monday, October 12th and Tuesday, October 13th.
