Newsletter 11-29
I hope everyone had a nice relaxing, long Thanksgiving weekend surrounded by family and friends. Thank you to all the families who brought in stuffing. The students really enjoyed eating together with their “Kindergarten Family.”
It is extremely important that your child is at school every day. Your student will miss out important, fun activities. We are doing many projects that take more than one day to complete. If your child is absent, they may not be able to make up the activity.
Kindergarten Tradition: Gingerbread Houses
Each student needs to bring in $1 for the supplies. This will be less expensive for you because I can purchase exactly what we need and how much. We will be making them Friday, December 10th. Parents will need to pick the Gingerbread Houses up on Monday, December 13th. The icing will harden, and it is recommended that it not be eaten. Your child’s Gingerbread House is a great keepsake that will last for many years. To save the gingerbread house, simply wrap it lightly in tissue paper, and then place it in a bag. The children will love to see their creation displayed year after year. If your child normally goes to afterschool, please come by and pick up your child’s Gingerbread House before school. I am in my room at 7:30. I would hate to have anything happen to the Gingerbread Houses in afterschool. Please make sure siblings do not take candy off these special houses.
*** Our class needs volunteers to help with this activity. I only need 6 volunteers. Please come and let me know as soon as possible.
Holiday program: Our class will be singing “Frosty the Snowman.” Attached is a copy of the lyrics. Please practice with your child.
This week we will be studying:
• Letter Rr
• Counting to 75
• Autumn
• Holidays in December

Dear Parents,
The students had a busy week. Last Friday our class had a Pirate Party. The students wore pirate bandanas, pirate patches, and mustaches. The students had pizza, pirate booty, and vampire blood (fruit punch). The students played 5 carnival games in the classroom. They had a blast. Ask your child about Friday afternoon. Thank you to Isabella’s Mom, Brenden’s Mom and Sebastian’s Mom!
Harvest Festival was a big hit. Thank you to Izick’s Mom, Brenden’s Mom and Isabella’s Dad for volunteering their time at our booth.
Please visit my blog. Go to www.lpatucson.org and click on central teachers. I have put up many pictures of different things that have gone on in the classroom.
