I hope everyone enjoyed the four-day weekend. Our class has a lot of information to cover before the quarter ends. Please continue to go over the letters, letter sounds, numbers 1-75, and sounding out basic words with your student. It really makes a huge difference.
It was great to see all the Grandparents on Wednesday. The students had fun participating in all the Rodeo activities. Thank you to all the Grandparents for helping.
Thank you to Ms. Chelsea (Madison’s Mom) for talking to all the kindergarten classes about Cowboy heritage. The students learned about the seven Rodeo events and received printouts.
Please bring in an empty shoe box the week of March 12th. We will be using them for a St. Patrick’s Day project. Please do not bring them in before, as I do not have room for 28 shoe boxes. Stores around town will be more than happy to give you empty shoe boxes. If you are able to bring in more than one, that would be great.
This week we will be studying:
• Letter Vv
• Adding
• Spelling words: dig, dog, dug

week of 2-13
The students enjoyed “For Love of Reading!” They loved making bookmarks with their 3rd grade reading buddies. Our class did a great job with “Poem in a Pocket.”
Thank you to the following people who came into the Oceanarium to read: Miss. April (Mikayla’s Mom), Mr. Rubasch(Principal), Mr. Watins(Vice Principal), Miss. Viri(ELL Coridnator), and Miss. Janet(My Mom). Mrs. Marshall and I read some of our favorite books too. The students loved hearing all the wonderful stories.
February 14th is Arizona’s 100th Birthday
• Student’s may wear western attire
o Jeans, boots, button up shirt, cowboy hat, etc.
Please make sure your student is in dress code. I know all the students are growing, but their shirts need to be long enough to stay tucked in even when they raise their hands. Also, please make sure your student has a change of uniform clothes in their backpack at all times.
Please continue to read to your student and fill out the reading log.
This week we will be studying:
• Letter Dd
• Adding
• Numbers 1-75
• Arizona’s 100th Birthday
• Valentine’s day
• Spelling words – yet, pet, pest
