The students’ insects are amazing. I am very impressed on their creativity. If your student has not made an insect, they still need to make one by Wednesday. I will be keeping the insects until the end of the year. Thank you to the following parents who volunteered their time on our field trips this week: Valecia (Janai’s Mom), Christina (Instatia’s Mom), Chelsea (Madison’s Mom), De (Evan’s Mom), Faith (Angie’s Mom), April (Maikayla’s Mom), Zenia (Angelita’s Mom), and Pat (Ryan’s Dad). The class loved going to Old Pueblo Grill – OPG. The General Manager – Manager Ryan gave us a tour of the restaurant. The students were surprised that it used to be a house. Our class helped Chief Brian make guacamole. Lastly, the students dressed up in aprons and participated in a relay, while balancing a glass of water on a tray. The students enjoyed mini chimis, chips, guacamole, and a drink. Continuing our restaurant tour, the class loved going to Outback Steak House. Mr. Rudy took our class on a tour of the kitchen. The students observed how the dishwasher worked and got to go into the huge walk–in freezer and refrigerator. The students had a good time being served delicious chicken fingers, fries and a drink while watching T.V. on the big screen. Teachers and parents appreciated being able to order anything from the lunch menu, all at no charge, compliments of Outback. Field day – Wed. Week 4-2

Last Friday, Mrs. Marshall and I played a practical joke on the students as an early April Fool’s joke. The students went back in history and worked by light of lanterns. We told the students that the lights went out. They experienced how difficult it must have been to work by candle light. After I finished reading a book about April Fool’s Day, Mrs. Marshall turned on the lights. APRIL FOOLS! The students were in shock. The students were trying to think of good April Fool’s jokes they could play on their parents. I stressed to them that any April Fool’s joke must be safe.
