week of 10-11-10

I am happy to announce that every student turned in their homework on time last week. WAY TO GO! Thank you to all the families who brought items off the wish lists. 
Next week, a homework packet will go home on Monday, and it is due Friday. Along with the homework packet, there will be a reading log. Please read to your child at least 20 minutes a night and document it. Also, our class will start having spelling test. Spelling tests, will be given on Friday morning. We have been practicing in our class. It is very important to review words every day. Children benefit from an adult giving practice tests at home. Thank you for your help!
Last week the students tried dried apples, apple slices, airheads, apple butter and Apple Jacks. Also, the students made apples that will be going home this week.
Wednesday – October 13th, all students MUST be picked up at 11:30. There will be NO lunch or afterschool. Have a fabulous, restful break! 
Report cards – • Report cards go home Wednesday, October 13th.
• Please remember that the students have only been in school for a couple of months.
• All students continue to need reinforcement at home.
• If you have any questions, I am more than willing to set up a time to discuss your child’s progress.
Grandparent’s day – October 13th• Please fill out attached form and return to school tomorrow.

Harvest Fest – October 29th from 6:00-8:00• Our class will be running a booth with Ms. Fite’s 3rd grade class.
• We are in need of adult volunteers to help run the booth.
• Please donate candy for our booth.
